THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LONELINESS AND HUMAN MOTIVATION

One of the reasons why your motivation is draining

Motivation is an extremely essential aspect in the pursuance of corporate and personal goals, such that the journey through the process isn’t necessarily easier but becomes worth doing.
It's true that different people develop motivation from different sources, but the effects of motivation will drain quickly when a person is experienceing loneliness.
A good instance is this, a task which would usually take a small amount of time to execute by a motivated person might end up becoming long overdue or might not be completed at all after twice or more of the time expected has elapsed when loneliness is present. Loneliness can occur even when in the midst of other people because it’s psychological in nature, hence, a group of people can be in the same room and receive the same amount of external motivation from maybe a talk session or a presentation of some sort. But a person experiencing loneliness could be less motivated than every other person in the room.

One of the brain's way of motivating us to do the things we need to do is by making our minds feel restless. As explained by Brian Tracy in his book, "Goals", there is a satisfaction that comes from achieving what we need and our bodies will put certain signals forward to us if we seem to be lacking behind. This is one of the reasons why we tend to be somewhat attracted to people who seem busy with their work or always have something going on in their lives.
With this in mind, we could predict that loneliness, sometimes already developing into depression, might be setting in when a person begins to care less about the things and people that are important in their lives.
